Frequently Asked Questions…

A babysitter is someone who look after children on a temporary basis, normally at the parents house (but can be a hotel) between the hours of 6pm and 2am.

Please read Our Parents Info page which gives you all the information on our vetting procedure.

Whatever notice you are able to give us. Some parents book well in advance while others give a couple of days notice. We also get requests with sometimes only a few hours notice and we will always try and organise a sitter for you.

Some of our new parents ask if this is possible before leaving their children, especially for the first time. In these circumstances we would recommend that you request the sitter to arrive at your property 30 minutes earlier. This allows you to meet them (which will need to be paid for), run through any routine and meet the children. Please remember each sitter has been carefully selected and interviewed before joining the agency.

Once a sitter has been allocated to you, the booking fee is then non-refundable. The reason being is the agency has done its requirement of organising a sitter for you. It actually creates more work if then this sitter is cancelled.

There is a £15 cancellation fee payable to the babysitter when cancelling within 24 hours of the start time of your booking

Babysitting is classed as temporary care of children within their own homes (or can be a hotel)between the hours of 6pm til 2am.

We can occasionally organise sitters earlier than 6pm start with notice. We can not guarantee this as the majority of my sitters are either at work full time or at home with their own children in the day.

With regards to a finish time, we do appreciate an approx finish time for two main reasons. Firstly, for security purposes the sitter can tell their own family what time they are due home. Secondly some sitters with young children themselves are only happy to sit up until midnight. However other sitters are quite happy to stay out as late as you wish.

No, each sitter has their own transport and can make their way to and from your property.

We will always attempt to arrange the same sitter for you. The more notice you can give us for bookings, the easier it is to secure your requested sitter.

£15 cancellation fee payable to the babysitter when cancelling with less than 24 hours notice. This is made by bank transfer direct to the babysitter.

Please note that the booking fee is non refundable once a sitter has been allocated to you and you have been advised that this has been done.

The office is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (closed Bank Holidays) however if I am out of the office during these times there is an answer machine which is checked regularly.

Once registered with the Agency, you can call, email or text us, whichever is best for you.

When you make a booking it is helpful for you to advise us of the date required, start time and approx finish time. I will then allocate a sitter and advise you who it will be. One or two days before the booking the sitter will call you direct to introduce themselves and confirm the start time etc.

No, our sitters do not have the correct car insurance to drive children round, so for the safety of your children the sitter is unable to transport them in their car.

We do ask that you let us know at your time of booking a sitter about any extra children that will be staying with you. We need the children’s names, dates of birth and any medical conditions.

We follow Ofsted guidelines for adult: child ratio to ensure the best care for your children. If extra children are present there is an additional charge of £2ph paid to the sitter. In some circumstances you may need 2 sitters at your house, we would let you know when you book if this is required.

Yes we can. We offer a hotel sitting service for these situations. Please see parents information page for hotel rates.
